Of Hutchins] (File 2 p726,Marriage Records, Shawano Co., WI) Anna (Annie) Cecelia Johnson (daughter of Swen Johnson & Nellie ?) b7/25/1874 Sköna,Sweden – d11/29/1939 Town of Hutchins,Shawano,WI – Occupation: Farmer in the Twp. of Hutchins. – Bur: Woodlawn Cemetery Resided in Town of Hutchins,Shawano,WI – August got a certificate of moving with No. 29 and moved to the parish of Kvistofta on October 24, 1877. He moved back to the family at No. 11 Härslöv on October 31, 1882 with moving certificate No. 22. He got a certificate of moving No. 6 on March 13, 1883 and imigrated to America. Note: Annie C. Swanson, Gastric Carcinoma diagnosed on 5/36 and operated (Death V21,p241) Cause of Death: at that time by Dr. L. W. Peterson of Shawano. Father Sven Johnson and Mother unknown. Bur: 12/2/1939 Note: Birth of August; Sven Nilsson and Karna Mattsdotter got a son August in November 1862. He is noted in the household records, but I have not found any note about him in the birth records (very unusual situation). I searched the birth records from Härslöv from 1862, could not find any boy got the name August that year. Found notes about one boy August Nils, born on Dec. 12, 1862, but his father was Nils Nilsson at number 11 Hillesheither. Searched the birth records from Säby for November 1862 without result. [Kjell-Ove Persson, Lund, Sweden, ög. Not noted as born in 1863 or 1864 Genealogist] Note: August died of Ulcers. Note: John & Hulda Swanson’s children; Anna, Carrie, Lilly, Sibyl, Abel, & Emil, were brought back from SD by August Swanson. On the train following Hulda’s death on their way to WI, they had to stop and buy diapers for Emil. The children went to live with James& Mary Johnson. This was in 1900. On the 1900 Census, Twp. of Hutchins, in July, August is listed as a farmer, and Oscar is 10 years old, and also listed is Esther, Clarence, Sydney, Carrie, Edna, & Elmer. All of the children were born in WI. Note: After the death of August, Anna Cecelia stayed on the farm and raised the children. U.S. 1930 Census states that Anna C. is the Head of the home on a dairy farm. Sidney 34, Elmer 30, & Victor 28 are residing at home helping run the farm.

*Written by John Garfield Swanson: In August of 1997, my wife, Opal, and I went to Stenestad to find graves of relatives, including Else and her husband, Nils. We were unable to find any graves, but met a couple from Ystad, Olle and Karin Fihnn, who have a summer cabin in Stenestad. They were very helpful to us and introduced us to a few of the townspeople. In fact, they even went so far as to open up the museum so that we could go through it, even though it was a Sunday. One of them was Elsie Johansson. We left a copy that I had made of relatives that I thought might be buried in and around Malmohus Ian. In December of 1997, we received a letter from Olle and Karin Fihnn in which they enclosed a review that Elsie did of some of the relatives in Stenestad. Lo and behold, the very house that the museum was in was the residence of Else and Nels and their seven children! How unbelievable that we had been standing in the very house that belong to my great, great, grandfather, his wife, and children!
